The day

5 October 2025

A little update

We’re getting closer to the big day, and we want to share some important details with you! Here’s everything you need to know. We can’t wait to celebrate with all of you!

Day Before the Wedding - Welcome Drinks
We’re in the process of picking a local spot to gather for some welcome drinks the afternoon before the wedding. It’ll be a laid-back chance to meet, mingle, and kick off the celebration. We’re thinking mid-afternoon the day before, so keep an eye out for more details as we lock in a place.

Also, we’ll be in Queenstown a few days before the wedding and planning on some impromptu margarita sessions around town—join the fun! We’ll create a WhatsApp group so we can keep everyone in the loop for any last-minute catch-ups, so feel free to pop in if you’re around.

‘The’ Day of
Mr and Mr wolfsmith

Venue
Our wedding will be at the stunning ‘Winehouse’ in Queenstown. The setting is gorgeous, and we can’t wait to share it with you.

Attire
It’s a Black Tie with a Twist affair! We’re going formal (black tie), but we encourage you to make it your own. Think creative, fun, and classy—but most importantly, wear what makes you feel fabulous!
(Scroll down for more information on attire)

Getting There
We’ve arranged transport to and from the venue
with two pick-up points:
1- Queenstown CBD
2- Frankton

Let us know where you're staying so we can potentially add more stops if there’s a group near your accommodation. The bus will depart at 2:00 PM sharp from these locations (final stops will be confirmed closer to the date).
Please be on time—the bus will not wait, so don’t miss it!

Accommodation
We recommend staying close to Queenstown CBD for convenience. The area is a bit hilly, so be mindful when choosing accommodation. We’re staying at the QT Hotel, just south of the city center. You can use the links on our wedding website or any other booking platform, but make sure you book early as things fill up quickly!

Order of the Day

  • 2:00 PM: Bus departs from the pick-up points

  • 2:45 PM: Arrival at the venue

  • 3:00 PM: Ceremony

  • 3:45 PM: Celebration drinks

  • 6:00 PM: Food and festivities kick-off!

  • 12:00 AM: Buses depart from the venue to take everyone back to town

    Reminder
Don’t forget to bring your passport! You might not need it for the wedding itself, but if you plan to come to the wedding, you will need it
(no you cannot travel on your drivers license)

We are beyond excited to celebrate this special day with you all. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out!

What does Black Tie with a twist mean?

Think elegance of a black-tie occasion with a laid-back, twist of your personality. As the wedding is in the beautiful Gibbston Valley, New Zealand, the backdrop is a blend of natural beauty and relaxed sophistication.
The dress code allows for creativity while maintaining eleganza.

Some guidance below plus a mood broad to help!

Suit Style - Think a sleek suit or dinner jacket. Don’t just stop at colour, you could even consider a velvet or textured fabric.

Gown Style - A floor-length gown is still a go-to, but you can experiment with a shorter, midi-length dress or even a tailored pantsuit with dramatic flair. Look for fabrics like satin, silk, or velvet, or opt for subtle textures like lace or embroidery to give the outfit depth.

No Tie (part of the twist) - Embrace the tie-less look by replacing a traditional necktie with either a sleek, high-quality pocket square or a statement lapel pin. Alternatively, an open-neck shirt with a subtle bow tie or cravat could work as a modern touch.
Think of an elegant choker necklace or a pair of statement earrings rather than any additional neckwear. If you’re opting for a gown, choose one with an interesting neckline or back detail that doesn’t require the usual accessories.

Footwear - Polished black leather or suede dress shoes (Oxford or Derby style) should keep the look sharp. For a more relaxed vibe, loafers or dressy boots can work. Heels are classic for evening events, but an elegant flat or sandal with a metallic touch can still feel dressy and allow for more comfort, don’t rule out a good block heel ladies!

Colours/Tones/Patterns - While black is always an option, consider dark jewel tones (emerald, ruby, sapphire) or muted metallics (bronze, silver) that give off a fun lively vibe.
If you’re feeling bold, a deep floral or pattern print could be a striking option for anyone!

Outerwear - Since it’s New Zealand, a light wrap, shawl, or tailored coat may be needed depending on the weather. Think elegant but practical.

All should embrace relaxed elegance while balancing formal flirty fun with comfort. This "black tie with a twist" code invites you to show personality, so feel free to add subtle accessories or unique textures, we have linked a mood board, just click the text below!
